Andrew Leslie began his distinguished career with Leslie & Godwin in 1967. He then brought 20 years of experience to his next role at Morgan, Read & Coleman before acting as Chairman of Global Risks Division at Arthur J. Gallagher and later became a founding member of Coastal Marine.
Mark Stevens entered the marine insurance market in the early ’70s as a broker at Lloyd’s. Since then, he has held CEO and Head of Country titles during his career, published three books, and worked on both the broking and underwriting sides of the business.
Graham Clark started as a marine broker in the early ’70s at Lloyd’s. He then moved to Tokyo in the mid 1970s and has been based in Asia since. His forte lies in the reinsurance and alternative distribution areas.
Veronica Lien dove into her insurance career with a direct broker in the 1970s. Based in Kuala Lumpur, she has since made her name as a reinsurance broker placing both marine and non-marine contracts.
John, or “Woody” as he is often called, began his insurance career in the 60’s and has held several senior positions in the London market. He is based in the UK and has spent the majority of his working life handling marine business from many parts of Asia.

Steve Gilbert has been in the Shipping/Marine Insurance industry for 50 years, and has been Director of Insurance and Risk Manager for several high-profile Shipowning/Shipmanagement companies, most recently GasLog Ltd, Berge Bulk and P&O Nedlloyd. Steve has been appointed to P&I Club and Hull Insurance company committees, and has also held senior positions in the underwriting and broking markets.

Laurent has been working in the international marine insurance market for over 30 years and his experience includes working with two of the world’s leading insurers before joining Coastal. Laurent is located in Cyprus.
Capt. Jon Elliott

Capt. Jon began his seafaring career in 1960. 11 Years in Taiwan running US Lines. Moved to Singapore 1980, joined Matthews Daniel in Singapore in 1989, becoming Far East Managing Director. Capt. Jon started his own company Elliott Associates Pte Ltd after retired, the object of bringing an enhanced level of Loss Prevention to the Asian Marine industry.
Capt. Jon now is the Managing Director of Lighthouse, the Loss Prevention Division of Coastal Marine Asia Holdings Ltd, and provides technical guidance to underwriters, whilst arranging crew and management loss prevention training for Insured Owners.

Capt. Ramon Tuburan has thirty-seven (37) years experience in shipping career with seventeen (17) years expertise as Vice- President for fleet of seventeen (17) high speed vessels. Highly skilled at working with different types of vessels and command excellent Technical and Commercial capability. Competent in Domestic and Foreign client relation with multi-racial network all over the world. Conducted numerous surveys for clients both domestic and international.

Vika is a Chartered Insurer and started her insurance career as General Insurance underwriter and is assisting Clement in North Asia operations and developing business in that region.

Ku started his insurance career in the early 90’s and is a very experienced marine Hull underwriter as well as having many years experience on the marine claims side of the business.

Coastal Marine is her first underwriting experience where she will be with the Underwriting Team in maintaining many of our existing broker relationships, as well as developing new business opportunities in the South East Asia region.

Pui Sun specialises in Hull and Protection and Indemnity (P&I) insurance and started her career in 2001; her skills include risk analysis and underwriting support. Pui Sun is working with Clement in the Hong Kong team.

William has enjoyed a varied career, including ten years at sea, seven years as a marine surveyor, two years working in port logistics, and five years as claims manager of a global insurer, before joining Green Reach to manage Coastal Marine’s claims function.

Ashok Sharma has many years of experience in the Malaysian insurance market. He held several senior posts including CEO, and is also a Lecturer for the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) on marine matters. Ashok supports William handling claims.

Debra was called to the Bar in 2016 and also ANZIIF qualified and has also worked in the insurance broking industry and shipping industry and will be applying these skills in handling marine claims together with William and Ashok.

Danny has many years of experience in the marine insurance industry and uses his administrative and IT skills to be build the all important link between the underwriters and the Green Reach team who provide all of the back-up services.

Chai started her insurance career in 1999 and is an experienced marine underwriter who has expanded her skills into planning, metrics, reporting and strategy and focuses on analysis of the company’s key data and working with Danny to ensure that the company’s systems support its needs.

Zee provides all of the underwriting metrics as well as providing the necessary actuarial skills to build the company’s rating engine.
