We are pleased to announce our sponsorship and active participation in the upcoming International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) 2025 annual conference, taking place from September 7 to 10 at Resorts World Convention Centre, Singapore.
IUMI’s Annual Conference, organised by the trade association for general insurers General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA), is the world’s leading marine insurance conference that brings together industry experts and influential stakeholders from the marine insurance sector and adjacent industries. This year’s host, Singapore, is at the heart of global trade connectivity and strategically positioned as a gateway for maritime companies to trade in the region and beyond.
Under the theme, “Charting Opportunities in Changing Times,” Coastal Marine’s team will explore at IUMI 2025 how the marine insurance industry can respond to a world undergoing rapid transformation. With global trade patterns evolving and maritime risks becoming more complex, the push toward digitalization and the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 are reshaping the landscape. In this context, IUMI 2025 offers a timely platform for the global marine insurance community to come together.
“This year’s theme speaks directly to the challenges and opportunities facing all of us in marine insurance,” said Simon Stonehouse, Chief Underwriting Officer of Coastal Marine. “We see this moment as a call to lead through insight, innovation, and responsible risk-taking. We’re proud to stand with IUMI and the industry as we shape what’s next.”
Our presence in Singapore reflects our ongoing commitment to international collaboration and industry leadership. We expect to exchange ideas with fellow (Re)insurers and shipping professionals on how to stay resilient—and ahead—in this changing landscape. And, as a sponsor of IUMI 2025, we’re honored to support the critical dialogue that will help guide the future of marine underwriting and risk management.
We will provide more information about our involvement, including session highlights and insights, which will be shared in the coming weeks through our website and our official Linkedin account.
